6. New Ideas for Employee Health and Safety in Sri Lanka Port Authority.

 

Workplace safety issues can be present in any field but are particularly prevalent in industries such as transportation, manufacturing, and construction. 

However, the work doesn’t have to be physical to present a risk. Offices, schools, and retail outlets all have their own set of hazards. What’s essential is promoting workplace safety programs and safety awareness and following through. The safety and well-being of your employees are important enough reasons to establish a safety program in the workplace, but there are other business benefits to starting a safety program and sticking to it. Sri Lanka Port Authority must move to new ideas and new suggestions for improving employee health and safety. Below are mention some suggestions for improving employee health and safety in Sri Lanka Port Authority,

In Sri Lanka Port Authority, They use the NAVIS system function main operational things. They also use a Terminal management system to operate the function of the equipment. To improve productivity and prepare a safe environment for the employees, SLPA can use these kinds of things as well,

  • Use a drone system to observe the crane operating systems.
  • Use AI technology to improve more efficiency of employees.
  • Use new grantee - cranes to achieve employees' targets.
  • Use robotics knowledge to move cranes and other things.
  • Use a GPS tracking system to get the location of moving containers.

Comprehensive training is a must for preventing workplace injury. Make sure that all of your employees have access to – and complete – all safety training for their positions. All employees should receive regular health and safety training to ensure that they understand the hazards and risks associated with their jobs. They need to know how to use safety equipment and follow safety procedures. These are the new suggestions for SLPA employees,

  • Give overseas training to the operational staff.
